After launching GeeInsight, the main interface appears as shown below:

It consists of the Menu Bar, Project Shortcut Bar, Data List, Main Data View, Quick Access Toolbar, Message Center / Display Settings, Status Bar, and Task Manager.

1 Project Shortcut Bar

The Project Shortcut Bar provides quick access to project-level operations.

  • New Project: Create a new project for processing or viewing point cloud.

  • Open Project: Open history GeeInsight project.

  • Recent Projects: Quickly open recently used projects.

  • Delete Project: Click the “×” , it will open a confirmation dialog.

    • Click Yes → Deletes the project and all internal files, and removes it from the recent list.

    • Click No → Keeps the project but removes its index from the recent list only.

2 Menu Bar

The Menu Bar contains four modules: File, SLAM Process, Tool and Modeling.

Selecting different modules displays their corresponding function options.

3 Data Management List

The Data Management List displays data added to the project and results generated after processing. It supports: visibility on/off control, removing data, multi-selection and right-click context operations.

4 Main Data View

The Main Data View is used to render and display generated project data. It also supports basic navigation and interaction.

5 Quick Access Toolbar

The Quick Access Toolbar provides commonly used visualization and operation tools. By default, it is docked on the left side but can be dragged to the right, top, or bottom.

The toolbar supports multiple rendering modes including True Color, Intensity, Elevation, Time, and File-based, as well as EDL rendering, standard views, vertical and horizontal profiles, full-screen display, Fly View, showing backface and mulitiple point adjustment tools.

Detailed explanations of rendering modes are provided in Section 3.7, and profile tools are described in Section 4.3.3.

6 Display Setting

The Display Settings panel is located at the lower-left by default and can be docked elsewhere. It allows users to adjust rendering mode, point size, transparency, and density.

Viewer

When multiple viewports are active, you can select a specific viewport to adjust its display settings independently.

Normally there is only one viewport. Using the Profile Tool splits the view into two windows.

Render

Supported rendering modes: RGB, Intensity, Elevation, Time and File

For Intensity, Elevation, and Time modes:

  • Different color ramps can be selected

  • The color range can be adjusted

  • Data outside the selected range can be hidden

  • Click Reset to restore defaults

Point Size

Adjusts displayed point size for better visual clarity. Range: 1–10 (default: 1).

Transparency

Controls transparency for improved visual penetration. Range: 0–100 (default: 100, fully opaque).

Density

Adjusts the number of displayed points to emphasize or simplify geometric details. Range: 1–10 (default: 5).

Gradient

Sets the color bar and display range.

7 Message Center

The Message Center displays processing progress and task status. It is docked at the lower-left by default and can be repositioned.

8 Status Bar

Located at the lower-left corner, the Status Bar display shortcut key and coordinate information.

9 Task Manager

The Task Manager is located at the lower-right. Click the progress bar to open a detailed panel showing task progress and statistics.

It supports opening result folders, exporting execution logs and viewing the operator currently being executed.

Right-click Options:

  • Start / Stop Task

  • Remove Task

  • Open Result with Get3D Viewer

Start / Stop Task

  • Stop pauses a running task.

  • Start resumes from the paused state.

  • Completed/failed tasks can be restarted.

  • Successfully completed steps are automatically skipped.

Remove Task

  • Waiting tasks → removed and not executed.

  • Completed tasks → removed from list (results remain).

  • Running tasks cannot be removed.

Open Result with Get3D Viewer

  • Opens completed results directly in Get3D Viewer (must be installed separately).

10 Window Management

Click any docking area to open Window Management, where panels can be shown or hidden as needed.
